Junior Board

(03.09.2007) UNEP is determined to engage children and youth in their work for a sustainable future, and involves them actively in the planning of the Tunza conferences. At every conference a Junior Board is selected to take part in the planning and execution of the next Tunza conference. The Board consists of children representing all regions of the world.

The Junior Board contributes with suggestions and views throughout the planning process, and perform as hosts, spokespersons and role models during the conference.
At the Tunza conference in Malaysia in August 2006, these children were elected into the Junior Board for the period of 2006-2008.

  • Daniela Melendez, Colombia (Latin America and the Caribbean Region)
  • Nathan Sutcliffe, United Kingdom (European Region)
  • Naylee Nagda, Kenya (African Region)
  • Guy Bebeto Nindorera, Burundi (African Region)
  • Bradley Michael Lewis, Australia (Asia and the Pacific Region)
  • Samuel Juan Azucena Loyola, Philippines (Asia and the Pacific Region)
  • Ammar Hussain Ali, Bahrain (West Asia Region)
  • Four representatives from the host country of Tunza 2008:
    • Hanna Monslaup Eikås from Stavanger
    • Håkon Bore Haaland from Sola
    • Helga Anfinsen from Sandnes
    • Kristian Magnus Øien from Trondheim
